Incantatrix Apothecary's Mermaid Tears

The wavy bottle contains the near translucent tears of the elusive mermaid. When shed, the tears transform into ghostly pears, which sink to the bottom of the sea - making them incredibly difficult to source and bottle. 

The bottle is decorated with hand-tied rope decoration, ceramic starfish beads, a vintage-style clam shell label and charm, a mermaid wax seal with two layers of dripping wax, etchings of fish and coral and gilded detailing. 

When shaken the translucent aqua green liquid is transformed into a shimmering green.

How we collect the tears: 

A few summers past, a talented bard with a head full of dreams and a heart full of song boarded a ship to the capital - his prized lure upon his back. Just 3 days into the journey, the ship was pulled into the greatest storm the East Coast has ever seen, tearing the ship to shreds and leaving the rest to be swallowed by the sea. 

There were no survivors, with the debris of the ship being too small and brittle to carry any of those who survived safely away on the waves. The bard, however, with his precious lyre still strapped on his back drifted safely away from the wreckage. Too exhausted and injured to swim, he let the current carry him for two full days before he sighted land. But too exhausted and beaten by the sea, he could not muster the strength to swim towards the lush green mountains he spied across the blue. 

At a loss for anything else to do, the bard began to sing. Though his voice was hourse from days without food or water, the tune was pure and beautiful - and soon caught the attention of the mermaids that roamed the waters close to the island. 

Moved by the melody, the mermaids pulled the bard to the safety of the shore - weeping to his haunting beautiful voice while they swam. The bard was found upon the beach by a young witch, who nursed him back to health in her Apothecary and they become fast friends. 

When he was healed, the bard returned to the beach to sing to his saviours - and the mermaids came and wept once more when they heard his precious voice carry across the waves. Knowing their powerful properties in potion making, the bard asked the mermaids if he could collect their tears. The mermaids agreed upon one condition, the bard must return and sing to them at every morning tide. The willfully bard agreed.
